I think this article is really relevant, in fact so many luxury brand try to launch their own hotel. But the really thing is not a way to earn money with this new industry but it's only a way to promote and to make advertising for the luxury brand. It can allow some free advertising in the news and to create some new point of sales where the richest people of the world will spend a night. But the thing is to be carefull in the way to do it because every single people is not expert in hotel industry.

So, it's actually a good thing to create a partnership or a licensing with a hotel company.
